MANHATTAN ARTS CENTER PRESENTS . .
The Columbian Artists Membership Exhibit 2010 and Prints by Kaci Smith
February 27 - April 10
The Manhattan Arts Center presents the Columbian Artists Membership Exhibit 2010 and in the front gallery Prints by Kaci Smith from February 27 to April 10.
The Columbian Artists group was founded in December of 1998. It was conceived as a support group for experienced 2-dimensional artists. A strong response to the initial letter paved the way for the idea to become reality. Since December of 1998, The Columbian Artists have met monthly, usually at The Columbian Theatre in Wamego, Kansas; have expanded their scope to include the 3-dimensional arts; have received a monthly mailing--including a calendar of events; and have formed interest groups to plan a variety of group activities including critique of recent work, exhibits, en plein air painting and workshops in a variety of media. The group has supported the visual arts in area high school high school through scholarship support and merit awards presented at League Art Shows.
The membership includes 5 signature members of Kansas Watercolor, professional artists, former KSU Art faculty and Architecture/Landscape Architecture faculty; public school art instructors and artists with a desire to improve and share their art production.
The Manhattan Arts Center galleries are free and open to the public Monday through Friday 10 to 5pm.
